Mark Arm (born Mark McLaughlin on February 21, 1962) is an American musician, and the lead singer for grunge band Mudhoney. He was also a the lead vocalist for grunge band Green River. He is also the manager of the Sub Pop warehouse.
Career[]
Mr. Epp, and Green River[]
Mark's first band was Mr. Epp and the Calculations. He formed the band in 1980 at Bellevue Christian High School. They recruited Steve Turner in 1983, and released a cassette tape. But the band broke up in 1984, allowing Arm and Turner to from Green River with Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. The band did not last long, though. They were active for three years. However, Arm still played with Turner. Sadly, he was going through a heroin addiction.
Mudhoney[]
After recruiting two more band members, the new act known as Mudhoney signed onto Sub Pop. Mark Arm wass going through a bad addiction, so the band convinced him to use heroin off the road, and not during the tour. Since then, he has been used to quitting the heroin for some time. Sub Pop released many of Mudhoney's early works. Of course, Sub Pop was on the verge of bankruptcy, so Mudhoney singed onto Reprise and stayed there for 8 years. Today, Mudhoney still releases albums.
